Introduction – What is Nipun?
NIPUN (National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Comprehension and Numeracy) is the national mission to ensure that every child achieves proficiency in reading with comprehension and numeracy. It is part of the National Education Program 2020 (NEP), launched under the Nation Sponsored Comprehensive Education Scheme.
Nipun Bharat Mission is an initiative of NEP 2020 which aims to achieve foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) at an early age for every student. For learning, early age (0 to 8 years) is the most important period for the growth and development of the child. This age lays the foundation for the all-round development of the child.
Strong and quality educational facilities at this age encourage children to participate in learning and leave a lasting impression.

Activities under Nipun Bharat Mission in our school

reading comprehension activities
Help children read with comprehension:- Using textbook and various learning materials. (using library books, comics books)
Activity-based pedagogy:- Taking students on an educational tour, playing topic-related videos and showing a documentary in the class.
Teach in children’s home languages: word games, jokes, riddles, rhymes, tongue twisters, songs.
Teaching-learning materials:- Use various TLMs (different types of houses, charts on different topics) to engage children.
Constantly keep an eye on the learning level of children.
Oral Language Development:- Conversation Cards: Use conversation cards at any time or place to enhance child’s use and understanding of oral language.
Decoding/comprehending letters, words:- The best practice is to start with frequently used letters, like the letters in their names.
Reading fluency by understanding meaning and punctuation.
Accurate Reading Comprehension:- Reading comprehension practice for all levels. Free interactive reading exercises. Fables, Short Stories, English Dialogues, eBooks.
